Weight-gain is a term that’s a concern for a lot of people today, there are people on both sides. Some are concerned because they keep gaining weight, and some are concerned because they can’t gain weight. While in today’s world the focus is mainly towards those who keep gaining weight, the science to weight-gain is in fact very similar for both sides. Healthy lifestyle choices, proper diet, and exercise are some of the factors that contribute to a healthy body-weight. Let’s have a bit more detailed look at some of these factors.
- Satiety: Satiety or feeling satisfied after a meal plays a very big contribution to how much a person eats, someone who gets their appetite satisfied very quickly may not be eating enough food for their body to meet its daily requirements, and some may be overeating which results in them gaining weight.
- Metabolism: When you have a higher metabolism, your body may spend more energy than you intake, resulting in you not gaining as much as you want to, and in cases of low metabolism rate, your body spends less energy, and therefore you gain weight from the remaining unused fat in the body.
- Sleep: Sleep is something that affects everyone when it comes to weight, lack of enough sleep may disturb your metabolism rate, due to which you may either not be able to gain weight or even become overweight. At least 7-8 hours of daily sleep is necessary for a healthy mind and body.
- Exercise: When you’re not giving your body enough activity, your body’s metabolism gets disrupted due to which it becomes difficult to maintain a healthy body-weight. 30-60 mins of daily exercise will not just keep your body healthy, and help you maintain a healthy weight, but it will also help you stay in a good mood.
